A small horse property near Battle Point Park is seeking reliable help with outdoor yard work. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work in an outdoor setting.

Student Conservation Corps (SCoCo) is a paid Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District employment opportunity enhanced with conservation education for local High School age students. Across Bainbridge Island, crew members assist in restoration projects through removal of invasive plants, planting, mulching, or other practices according to the Park District’s Invasive Plant Management Plan. During lunch hour, guest speakers provide conservation education and career advice. Four total SCoCo sessions, nine weeks of positive impact on the natural ecosystem of Bainbridge Island!

Dog Walker

In need of a dog walker for morning and evening walks. Maggie is a 3 year old English spaniel who is a lover. She has lots of energy and enjoys walks and playing in the water. We have two Living Giving Tree costumes.  We need 4 people to fit into tall, narrow costumes.  They will simply move around the room during the social hour with an IVC “tender” who will be soliciting donations for the Giving Tree Fund. The participants will each take one 40 min- 1 hour shift.

A Peer Mentor provides guidance, support, and encouragement to fellow crew members to help them successfully navigate their job duties. Under the general supervision of the SCoCo Crew Leader, the Peer Mentor also performs a variety of tasks related to invasive species removal and the restoration of park areas, working within a team of 10–24 peers. This position involves hands-on fieldwork, including the physical removal of invasive plants such as English ivy, Scotch broom, and other non-native species from local parks. Part-time employment from June 22-July 20.
